Schulz hangs on to win First Tee Open

09/05/2010 - Pebble Beach, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Champions Tour rookie Ted Schulz earned his first win in 19 years Sunday by shooting a two-under 70 in the final round of the First Tee Open.

Schultz picked up a birdie at the 17th hole and finished at 14-under 202 to beat Tom Pernice Jr. by a shot and Tom Kite and Mark Calcavecchia by two.

It was the first victory for Schultz since he won the 1991 Los Angeles Open on the PGA Tour. He was making just his 12th start on the Champions Tour.

The 2009 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds have been released and Denver Broncos' running back Knowshon Moreno has been made the opening favorite.

Moreno was selected in the first round of April's NFL draft and is expected to carry the rushing load for the Broncos this season. And with Jay Cutler now in Chicago, Moreno might be expected to be Denver's entire offense.

Plus, Heyward-Bey will be looking to prove the people wrong who said Oakland should have taken Michael Crabtree with the No. 8 pick.
